Our story
Growing up, Rick spent time in the field training and working with his dad, uncle, grandpa and eventually on his own. He loved watching the dogs work and being part of their success – together they paired love of the field, training and instinct together.
As an adult, Rick found himself once again training – this time in a secondary school setting. He found success helping adults define new goals and work to achieve them. But always interested in the idea of owning his own business, Rick left the school setting and opened Mr. Hubbard’s Hounds in May 2014.
Primarily a dog walking service when it started, it grew into a family affair. We found ourselves inspired by the dogs we met to build a place for them – a place where we could give them what they universally wanted:
Space and time outside, attention from their trusted friends (both human and canine), love and exercise.
After much planning, Mr. Hubbard’s Hounds moved to it’s new location in May 2020. Since then, we’ve found dogs who visit embrace the space and come out of their shell – confirming that it certainly is good to be a dog here.
